BIODIVERSITY WALK along the Somerville Community Path

Somerville Community Path
Meeting at Seven Hills Park next to the Red Line T Station in Davis Square
(behind the movie theater)
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, water, and a plant identification book
Groundwork Somerville is organizing a plant identification walk along the
Somerville Community Path to identify native and invasive species, and
discuss management strategies for this urban wild. Anyone knowledgeable
about plant identification and park maintenance is invited to join in this
walk.
The results will be used in an invasive species mapping project that is
being done as a collaboration between Groundwork Somerville, the Mystic
River Watershed Association, and Tufts University.

Where Path ends at Cedar Street (between Morrison & Highland Aves.)
What to bring: clothes you can get dirty, water, and tools if you have them
Help us care for the planting bed where 500 wildflowers were planted last
fall, along with the other natives planted over the last 4 years. Weeding
and some trash pick-up, plus some larger plant removal.
